Potassium chloride is used for mineral supplementation.

When prescribed by a healthcare professional, P.C. 73 is generally well tolerated at the recommended dose and may be prescribed for infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, and the elderly.

The easy-to-swallow tablet can be halved or crushed to facilitate low-dose prescribing for infants and children.

PRESCRIBING INFORMATION
Potassium is essential for nerve conduction and many other physiological functions. Chloride plays a key role in maintaining hydration, osmotic pressure, and ionic balance of body fluids. Both minerals are also necessary for gastric acid production.

GASTROINTESTINAL FUNCTION
Potassium and chloride are both required for the production of gastric acid, supporting proper digestive function.

FLUID BALANCE
Potassium and chloride help regulate water balance in the body. Potassium works with extracellular sodium to maintain normal osmotic pressure and supports the kidney’s ability to correct imbalances through excretion.
Chloride channels influence cellular water uptake and loss, thus regulating cell volume and fluid balance.
