Henry Blooms Raspberry Leaf 2000 60c
Raspberry leaf is a toning, astringent herb traditionally used in Western herbal medicine for its antispasmodic and uterine-tonic properties. It is often taken during the final trimester of pregnancy to support the body in preparing for labour and to condition the uterus for childbirth. Additionally, raspberry leaf has long been used as a general tonic for the female reproductive system and to assist in managing dysmenorrhoea.
TRADITIONAL USES OF RASPBERRY LEAF
Raspberry leaf has been used by midwives for centuries as a uterine tonic, particularly during the last trimester of pregnancy to help prepare the uterus for labour. In Western herbal medicine, it is also traditionally used to ease heavy or painful menstrual periods due to its antispasmodic effects.
It is believed that raspberry leaf contains a compound known as fragarine, which may help relax and tone the uterine muscles. Research suggests it may help support regulated uterine contractions during labour.
