HOW IT WORKS

Cascara sagrada, also known as sacred bark, is one of Nature’s Sunshine’s most popular herbal products. Traditionally used by cultures around the world, the bark supports proper waste elimination. Cascara sagrada acts as an herbal laxative, promoting intestinal contractions and helping to empty the colon.

WHY CASCARA SAGRADA?

We partner with experienced cultivators who have hand-harvested cascara sagrada for generations. Wild-crafted and sustainably sourced from the Pacific Northwest, the bark is collected each year between mid-May and August from trees aged 10–20 years.

After harvesting, the fresh bark is cut into 3–4 inch sections, kiln-dried to age, and then ground again for use. Cascara trees thrive along coastal regions from British Columbia to Northern California. Interestingly, these trees naturally regenerate in logged areas, helping restore forest biodiversity, while timber companies often replant only conifers.

RECOMMENDED USE

Take 2 capsules/tablets with a meal once daily.
