Welcome to the Mammoth Health Remedial Massage Clinic.
Back pain, neck pain and headaches are the most common conditions we see through the clinic together with injuries resulting from overuse or activities. However pain and imbalance caused by stress, overwork and a typical ‘fast-paced’ lifestyle a lot of us now lead are also typical cases that receive enormous benefits from remedial massage.
When tendons and muscles become tight, knotted, damaged or immobile, remedial massage techniques are used to locate and repair the damage as well as support the body’s own repair mechanisms. Thus remedial massage is a holistic approach which seeks to not only give relief to presenting symptoms but trace back to the original cause of condition.
Mammoth Health Massage Clinic specialises in the following:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Stress & Imbalance
- Low energy & vitality
- Sluggish lymph
What Happens In a Remedial Massage Consultation?
Remedial Massage appointments involve a private consultation with a qualified Remedial Massage therapist who will take a detailed health history, followed by a physical assessment to identify the nature and the causative factors of the problem. For example the pain you may be experiencing in your neck may very well be caused by a posture problem in your lower back. This may be caused by long periods of sitting at a computer or driving in a car.
Once your therapist has identified the cause and nature of your problem and the contributing lifestyle factors, appropriate treatment can commence.
Every client is different therefore treatment is individualised and may include techniques such as myofascial release, emmett technique, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular technique or lymphatic drainage. Passive stretching is also used.
Massage is applied directly to the body using oil and treatments are usually between 45min-60min. At the end of your treatment your practitioner will show you specific stretches to do at home to improve your results. Of course for long standing or significant musculoskeletal problems, a number of treatments may be required and treatment and techniques may be modified according to the rate of progress.
For long term preventative health, vitality and stress management monthly massage is recommended
